Role Summary
As Supplier Quality Manager (SQM) you will be responsible for managing and improving the quality performance of suppliers within the aerospace manufacturing supply chain. You’ll role ensure that all supplied materials, components, and services meet the stringent quality standards required by the aerospace industry and comply with relevant regulations and customer requirements. In this role you’ll collaborate closely with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to drive continuous improvement, mitigate risks, and support successful product delivery.
Your day-to-day / What we are expecting from you / Your responsibilities 
- Supplier Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality management processes to ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and customer specifications
 - Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and capability evaluations to qualify new and existing suppliers
 - Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier quality performance using KPIs such as SRPPM (Supplier Reject Parts Per Million), NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and delivery performance. Identify trends and implement corrective actions
 - Supplier Development: Work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive supplier Zero Defects
 - Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier quality, including supply disruptions and non-compliance
 - Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier assessments, audits, and quality performance. Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and customers
 - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with procurement, engineering, production, and quality teams to align supplier quality expectations and resolve issues
 - Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and training to suppliers on quality requirements and best practices
 - Compliance: Ensure all supplier-related activities comply with relevant aerospace regulations, corporate policies, and industry standards
 
Who we are looking for
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards AS9100, EASA P21G, EASA Part 145, NADCAP, quality tools PFMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and supplier auditing techniques
 - Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
 - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams
 - Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
 - IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and familiar with quality management tools
 - Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
 
Ideally, you will also have
- Experience working with international suppliers and understanding global supply chain dynamics
 - Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements specific to the UK aerospace industry
 - Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
