The Fixed-Wing Fleet Manager is a senior operational leader responsible for the strategic oversight, performance, and continuous improvement of all maintenance activities across the company’s fixed-wing fleet. This role is instrumental in ensuring uncompromising safety, regulatory excellence, and consistent aircraft readiness in support of critical air medical transport services.
This leader is responsible for the full lifecycle of maintenance planning and execution, including the precise scheduling of inspections, oversight of complex repairs and modifications, and alignment of maintenance strategy with operational demands. In close collaboration with Flight Operations, Safety, and leadership, the Fixed Wing Fleet Manager ensures maximum fleet availability while minimizing operational disruption.
The role requires building and leading a high-performing maintenance organization, developing technical talent, and fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. Additionally, this leader manages key vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness across all external partnerships.
The ideal candidate brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a deep understanding of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Part 135 operational standards, while consistently driving compliance while elevating overall maintenance performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Maintenance Oversight & Execution
Direct and oversee all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for fixed wing aircraft.
Ensure all maintenance actions comply with FAA Part 135 requirements, OEM standards, and company procedures.
Maintain complete and accurate aircraft records, logbooks, and digital maintenance tracking systems.
Ensure timely compliance with airworthiness directives (ADs), service bulletins (SBs), and internal inspection programs.
Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and return-to-service decisions.
Leadership & Personnel Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise fixed-wing maintenance technicians.
Promote a safety-first culture with accountability and professionalism.
Develop and maintain duty rosters, ensuring 24/7 maintenance support capability for air medical missions.
Provide training and professional development opportunities for maintenance staff.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Actively support the Safety Management System (SMS), reporting and mitigating hazards.
Participate in safety and quality committees, audits, and investigations as required.
Ensure maintenance operations are always prepared&96; for FAA, CAMTS, and internal audits.
Operational Support & Collaboration
Coordinate with flight operations and communications center to minimize aircraft downtime.
Support air medical crews by prioritizing aircraft availability for time-sensitive needs.
Communicate effectively with leadership regarding fleet status, maintenance schedules, and risks.
Resource & Vendor Management
Oversee inventory, parts ordering, and tooling to support King Air fleet operations.
Manage relationships with MROs, OEMs, and contract vendors for supplemental maintenance support.
Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality or safety.
Financial & Strategic Planning
Develop and manage maintenance budgets specific to the fixed-wing program.
Monitor expenditures and track cost drivers such as engine overhauls, avionics upgrades, and modifications.
Provide leadership with forecasts for aircraft lifecycle planning and capital investment needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 90 days of position acceptance
Completion of Just Culture training within 90 days of position acceptance
Experience
Minimum 7 years of progressive aviation maintenance experience with turboprop fixed wing aircraft, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role.
Prior Part 135 air medical or charter operations experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expert knowledge of King Air systems, Pratt & Whitney PT6 engines, and avionics.
Strong understanding of FAA Part 135 maintenance requirements and CAMTS standards.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills in a time-sensitive operational environment.
Proficiency with computerized maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Veryon, CompleteFlight, Etc).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with aviation, clinical, and communications teams.
Live in or be willing to relocate to the region (within 4 hours or less of Amarillo, TX)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Power Bi

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years extensive hands-on experience with Beechcraft King Air series aircraft required.
