Summary:
Perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications and complex connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial, fiber optic).
Follow wiring instructions, engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications.
Seal, wrap, bond, tie, and close wire harnesses and assemblies per standard processes.
Conduct assembly, installation, inspections, operational and quality checks of electrical systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and environmental system malfunctions at organizational and depot levels.
Perform bench and flight-line testing per DOD, manufacturer, and company directives.
Lead or assist teams, train junior staff, and perform lower-level electrical duties as needed.
Use precision tools and instruments to ensure quality standards.
Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits.
Adhere to safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems.
Collaborate with General Mechanics, Structures, and Avionics teams to meet schedules and targets.
Work 100 onsite in San Antonio with up to 25 travel.
Follow SA Tool and FOD procedures and complete all required training assessments.
Requirements:
Secret clearance required after start.
4+ years of experience performing electrical wiring, modifications, and testing on aircraft or related systems.
4+ years of knowledge in electrical/electronic theories and systems.
Experience fabricating, routing, and installing wire bundles, including on aircraft without existing wiring (commercial routing preferred).
Ability to work rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
Ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 35 lbs (occasional 2-person lift over 50 lbs).
Frequent reaching, walking, standing, balancing, rotation of head/neck, bending/stooping, crawling, squatting, and operating foot controls.
Occasional climbing on 3 12 ft ladders or stands.
Frequent exposure to noise and contact with metals; use personal protective equipment as required.
Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
