The Composite Technician is responsible for the repair and rebuilding of composite parts and assemblies for heavy-lift military helicopters (CH-53E) and commercial operations helicopters (S64). Utilizing blueprints, the technician performs repairs through patching, layups, sanding, and using epoxies. This role encompasses working on both interiors and structures, including doors, radome and rotor covers, and tail spars. When the composites workload is light, assistance with sheet metal structures repairs will be required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and rebuild composite parts and assemblies for helicopters using blueprints.
• Perform patching, layups, sanding, and use epoxies to repair fiberglass composites.
• Work on both interiors and structures, including doors, radome and rotor covers, and tail spars.
• Assist with sheet metal structures repairs when composite workload is light.

• 4+ years of experience in aircraft composite repairs.
• Proficiency in repairing aircraft fiberglass pieces through laying up and layering patches, sanding, smoothing, and using epoxies.

• Must have own basic hand tools.
• Sheetmetal experience preferred to assist with sheet metal structures.

Work Environment

Work within a composite and paint shop situated in a small area with a few technicians. The shop is located next to the HR building and across from the hangar. The position operates on a day shift schedule: Monday to Thursday from 6 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
