Pratt & Whitney Cold Section Engineering Support to Operations (CSE ESTO) is looking for a self- motivated and detail-focused Principal Structures Engineer to serve as the point of contact for static hardware structures and engine programs. The selected candidate is expected to execute and oversee day-to-day activities for production support, proactive producibility improvement tasks, supporting critical quality issues, supplier transitions, and Class 2 Engineering Changes.
What You Will Do:
- Perform and provide oversight of structural analyses for compression system hardware, and will work collaboratively to arrive at solutions with integrated product teams in support of product/engine delivery.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and drive timely execution by overseeing structural analyses to meet task and schedule requirements; and Execute structural analysis of Fan, Low-Pressure Compressor (LPC), and High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) components via hand calculations, 2D and 3D finite element modeling, using standard work, analytical tools, and engineering judgment.
- Oversee and mentor outsource engineers to maintain outsource technical quality and grow their proficiency.
- Support proactive redesigns to improve the producibility of cold-section hardware.
- Document analyses and present results and associated recommendations to integrated part teams, management, and customers.
- Travel up to 10 (Domestic and International).
What You Will Learn:
- Gain exposure to a variety of commercial and military Cold Section rotating and static hardware.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 8 years of structures engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of structures experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in ANSYS or equivalent structural Analysis programs.
- Experience in Aerospace/Mechanical engineering fields with a focus on manufacturing.
- Proficient with P&W proprietary tools and Engineering Knowledge Systems.
- Strong focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
- Demonstrated capability of handling multiple tasks in parallel.

Department/Segment Overview: Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) provides dedicated support by eliminating quality notifications, escapes, works stops and enabling producibility and delivery of legacy and new parts, assemblies, modules, and engines. ESTO covers all engine programs and part families, enabling engine deliveries, first piece reviews, first article inspections, analysis automation, process certification. ESTO also supports the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) initiative in Operations. Technical disciplines in ESTO include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, and Manufacturing Engineering.

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
